Gary currently lives in Forsyth County with his family and volunteers his time coaching football and basketball for his son’s teams and serves on the YMCA Board of Directors. From 2000-2004, he served on the United Way Board of Directors for Forsyth County. Additionally, Gary participates regularly in Habitat for Humanity and American Cancer Society fundraisers, doing his part to help build homes for deserving families and to support finding a cure for cancer.

CHRIS Kids
Gary has built a special relationship with CHRIS Kids to aid abused and neglected children and their families. To honor and thank customers who have done business with Gary Welch Home Loans throughout the year, he sends a donation in their names to CHRIS Kids. Both Gary's team and his customers feel rewarded by this unique opportunity to help children.

Chain Reaction Prayer Breakfast
In the faith community, Gary has made his most recent and perhaps most significant impact on Atlanta by founding the annual Chain Reaction Prayer Breakfast. The Chain Reaction event is an opportunity for high school students, teachers and parents to come together and share a common experience that will inspire random acts of kindness in our secondary school community.
